The
Jebel Ali Equestrian Club (J.A.E.C.) is situated
in Jebel Ali Village and is in close proximity to
The Gardens, Jumeira Islands, Jumeira Village, the
prestigious Dubai Marina and Emirates Hills
developments and just 15 minutes drive from the
residential areas of Umm Seqeim and Jumeira. The
Club was originally established in 1992 and served
for many years as a small private Riding Club for
the surrounding community. In May 2001 a new
management team took over the Club and set about
implementing an extensive expansion and
improvement program to serve what has become one
of the most rapidly developing areas of Dubai and
beyond. |

During the past five years initial improvements
and expansion plans have included the development
of new paddocks, entailing the complete
reconstruction of the original two paddocks and
the construction of an International size arena
which can be divided into four separate arenas for
general use. Installation of an irrigation system
is complete and “Flood lighting” installed to
allow evening lessons and competitions. Two
“Spectators Stand” have been constructed. Initial
plans have been drawn up and passed for the
construction of a Club House and construction of a
fully air-conditioned stable block which is
additional to our existing two stable blocks, has
commenced and we are hopeful to have this
completed this season. An on-site “Tack Shop” is
up and running, providing quality equipment for
horse and rider not only for J.A.E.C clientele but
riders from around Dubai. Considerable money has
been spent on new equipment for the horses in our
care, including new saddles, leather work and
general equipment. Spray Cooling fans have
recently been installed in our existing stable
blocks for the comfort our horses during the hot
summer months. |
The
management team is ably supported by a team of five
highly qualified and experienced English, European &
Canadian Instructors. Some 18 experienced grooms are
employed to care for our horses. From some 30 horses
in 2001 we now have over 80 horses, from riding school
ponies through to competing Show Jumpers.
From approximately one hundred registered riders in
2001, we are now proud to boast a membership of over
800 active registered members, riding on a regular
basis. We endeavor to offer quality riding tuition
from ages four to adult, beginners through to advanced
level, to an ever growing community interested in this
exciting sport of horse riding. The riding school is
open every day except Friday. Lessons are conducted
from 7am – 10am and 5 pm – 8 pm.
In addition to the regular Riding School, we offer
during term time an “Extra Curriculum Horse Riding
Activity” program to schools in Dubai. With some 17
top expatriate Schools participating in this activity
between the hours of 2 pm and 5 pm daily. During this
activity, children receive both riding lessons and
stable management lectures. We also offer this program
to a school for special needs children which, is
incorporated into their school timetable four mornings
a week and as a “Leadership” program to several of the
senior schools.
Our
clientele base can only be described as
“International”. We cater to both the Local and
International communities with members registered
from U.A.E., Jordan, Syria, Egypt, Lebanon and
Iran. We have a considerable number of members
from Europe, Australasia, South Africa, North &
South America and the Indian Subcontinent & Asia.
Although, probably 70 % of our clients are
children, interest from our adult riders is
increasing.
In 2002 we were awarded U.A.E. Equestrian
Federation “Status & Accreditation” and are now
registered to hold Equestrian Federation Show
Jumping competitions allocated by the governing
body, which we do each year. These competitions
regularly attract Federation registered riders &
spectators from all over the U.A.E. including
members of the U.A.E. National Show Jumping team.
With regard to our own small Show Jumping team, of
adults and youngsters who are all registered U.A.E.
Federation riders. We are very proud of the
achievements of these riders who have during the
past few seasons competed all over the U.A.E. at
the weekly Federation competitions with some
considerable and noteworthy success. These riders
have carried the name of J.A.E.C. with honor and
their achievements have brought respect from
fellow Equestrian Clubs in the region.
On a Club basis we hold monthly Gymkhanas,
Dressage & Jumping Competitions for our clients
that attract a large number of competitors and
spectators. During school holidays we organize
“Stable Management Mornings” & “Stable Sleepovers”
for our young riders, which are always heavily
subscribed. |
